2 Create Partnerships Hand shaking There are many different vertical markets you can create partnerships with in order to help sell your services where commissions are based on accounts sold. One partnership model that proves to be successful and easy to start (as seen with ClearWire Wireless Internet) is, creating an Authorized Representative Program with local technology companies in the region in which you are looking to acquire a new business. By creating local partnerships you increase brand awareness and reduce overhead (facilities, employees, advertising, and more).

Another type of winning partnership is with radio stations. According to visp.net — A Wholesale ISP out of Oregon, ISPs are enjoying tremendous success by partnering with radio stations that host syndicated shows. As a result they have gotten their message out to nearly 30 million potential subscribers with just a single syndicated national radio show to a targeted audience.

Another nugget from visp.net is that computer manufactures provide another great partnership example. According to the wholesale ISP, computer manufacturers are calling them to find out ways to create partnerships at a wholesale level, because they are currently paying for Internet accounts at a retail rate. There are many small computer manufactures out there that bundle up to 1 year of Internet service with the sale of their computer. The manufacture partners with an ISP to buy a bulk of Internet accounts each for a year of service. After that year, the computer manufacture's customer is on their own to replace the previously paid for service. If ISPs were to position themselves to be the continuing provider of the Internet service for the computer sold and then make arrangements with the subscriber to continue service after the year, you would have a very strong campaign.
